tenon repair Gibson Timber Frames is Eastern Ontario's timber frame specialist, taking pride in the trade and applying it when employed to stabilize, preserve, or rehabilitate antique timber barns and buildings. Working with the client to determine the current state of the building, the best and most feasible preservation route to take, and then proceed to go about the work in an efficient and skilled manner.

The work may take several forms:
  • Stabilization: Generally this involves trying to straighten and brace the barn with cables, posts, or the like, until further work can be done.
  • In-situ repairs: This is the most common route. Replacing braces, structural repairs, replacing siding and/or doors, and resecuring roofing, etc.

  • Dismantle and reconstruction: This involves dismantling the frame, repairing and replacing pieces on the ground, foundation stabilization, and then raise the barn anew for another lifetime.
