This home merges two great building systems, insulated concrete and timber framing, to make a very efficient permant house at the entrance to the Thousand Islands on Wolfe Island, Ontario. The walls are insulated concrete and the roof and floor systems are timber frame. Drawing from the truly historic timber frame style of masonry walls and timber roof, this is a remarkable timber frame home. The staff at Gibson Timber Frames really had an oppoutunity to show their skills with this steep pitch dormer intersecting the main roof. | |
